Free The Slaves

The hesitant dad finally agrees to letting his daughter go to France with one of her friends. His young daughter, of less than 18 arrives in France with her friend, checks into their hotel, and starts to get ready for the day. Their plans are abruptly interrupted by French men entering their room. First they get her friend, and she manages to call her dad and tell him what is happening before they get her. With a scream she drops the phone, being pulled out from under her bed by these big men. She is sold. She must now preform sexual tasks for clients.

I remember very clearly asking my dad if these kind of things happen in real life. The strange part is, he told me no. He told me slavery was abolished hundreds of years ago. What my father didn't know, is that there are still 27 million slaves around the world today.
This movie made me think of a story I read about in class on Modern Day Slavery. A girl, at 12 years old, was kidnapped and sold to a sex industry in Cambodia. She was forced against her will to please the grown men, and if she didn't she would be beaten. The "clients" would make her be sexual with them and have intercourse, when she was only 12 years old.

In the movie Taken, the girls father is able to find her. He saved his daughter, along with other sex slaves.
Police men and an organization against prostitution were able to figure out about the Cambodian sex exchange and all of the sex slaves were able to be freed and sent home.
All through slavery is illegal it still happens. It could be happening right under our very noses and nobody would know. It's not as obvious as It once was, but it is just a brutal. And together we can all take a stand to end it. Every person counts
