PSA Introduction: Personal Stories

Slavery is a problem that is still occurring today, it is not a problem that simply disappeared after the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.  As much as we’d like to forget about all of the horrors that slavery entails, it is still taking place everywhere right as we speak.  As shocking as it may seem, there are 27 million slaves worldwide today, which is MORE than there were hundreds of years ago when slavery was common and legalized.  As much as we would like to, we are unable to tell the story of every slave, but our PSA gives voice to a few slaves, and sheds some light on the real underground issue of modern-day slavery.  We have stories about four different slaves who all experienced different things, but are bonded together by the common horror that they had to endure.  We told the stories of Sameemali, Helia, Miguel, and Dalyn, who were all forced into labor against their will, but have all received a new future and rescue.  We hope that by sharing the stories of these slaves, we can try to free even more slaves, and give new hope to those who think they have none.
